America DiscCovers Brazil!
For most of the world Brazil represents a carefree way of life, a country obsessed with carnival and football. People either wear very little, or top it off with fruit-flavored headgear. Disney introduced most Americans to Brazil, and it took Bossa to replace a cartoon image with a cool vibe. Here are some album covers that enticed "us" to sample "them." Clearly the jazz labels best matched graphics to mood, but never came close to the remarkable covers that illustrated Brazilian Bossa releases. All recordings from ARC's collection.
